Why San Diego is a Great Place to Study Environmental
San Diego, CA, is a great place to take up environmental studies because of the value that it places on having a clean, safe, and ecologically sound environment, San Diego created its Environmental Services Department in 1988. One of the major initiatives of this department was to reduce waste disposed in landfills by 25% by 1995 and 50% by the year 2000. They met the 1995 goal and are still pushing to achieve the 50% mark, just one example of how environmentally aware the city is.
